On Nt Key Voice 8.2 voice mail system.

When an associate leaves employment we delete thier mailbox. The problem is when you call into voice mail and use the directory of listings the person name is still in the voice mail system.

Why is this happening? And how do we delete it?

when you delate the mailbox the name goes out of the directory. However if the new person sitting at the desk just copies over the old persons name and greeting the old person name is still in the dial by name directory. You need to have the new person do the tutorial for that extension. To do that delete the old box and add it back. Then new person does the tutorial and you are set. Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply Jim.
We always delete the mailbox and set up a new mailbox for a new associate.

For some reason on some mailboxes the person name is still in the directory after deleteing the mailbox. Strange.

Is this a spoken directory or is it a directory of "please enter the first 3 letters of the last name of the person you wish to reach".

Example-Spoken directory you can point the * key to go to a mailbox whereby all employess names and extensions are listed such as for Dave press 218, for Mike press 219, for Jim press 220. If that is the case then the names will still be there regardless of whether the box is or not.

Default directory- you have to press the first 3 letters of the first or last name of the person you are trying to reach.

RFB - You have to dial the first three letters of the person name.

Is their a way to delete name that are not set up as mailboxes?

Found the data base corrupted. Reloaded data and things are now working properly.

Often the culprit behind strange behavior.

You might want to make sure your diskm.bat file is set to run every day (set every day to WED, since the maintenance only runs on WED).
