I just experienced a long delay between entering password and getting into mailbox to listen to messages.
Cadence, in a DCS, newer hard drive.
I told client to MAKE everyone delete old messages, haven't heard back.
I figured I could do scandisk or chkdsk, from DOS. Any Opinion to that?
I know sometimes when you call VM you can almost hear the VM progress thru the "tree". Not clicks, but wisps of noise, working thru the digit translation. This complaint takes as long, but didn't quite sound the same, more quiet.
Although it was: "please enter mailbox and password" . . . so it is, somewhat, moving thru the tree after entering the didgits.
Any suggestions? (Nothing, apparently, has changed in the last 6 months.)

I don't know this VM system at all, but if it runs in DOS, try defrag C: (after chkdsk). Disk fragmentation can cause erratic behavior on DOS VM systems.

Might have more luck on the Samsung forum with this.
If I remember right, there was a patch or an upgrade for this but its been a long time since I worked on a Cadence.
Maybe just a reboot would release the unused space after all the users delete old messages. You should also check to see that the purge days is set to something like 14 days rather than the default of unlimited.
