I was wondering if anybody could shed some light as to what type of blocks I'm looking at here?

Are you just looking at the photo, or do you have access to the actual item? I suspect that there is a manufacturer's name and model number somewhere on it. Can you find that info and let us know what it is?

Is that a test cord hanging at the middle right side? Is there a model number on it?

Arthur,

Thanks for the reply. No model numbers, at least non that I could find. As far as the hanging cord, I'm assuming it's a test cord again no model numbers at all.

I wish the picture came out better than it did.

Krone maybe? Since the OP is in NY which would be Verizon territory, it would be a safe guess.

Looks like an old Cook Electric box that was used in apartment residential installs back in the day of GE Rescom.

Score 1 for the mossman! I'm telling you if it's VZ it's almost gotta be Krone. Looks like a mess to me!

As far as NID's go. That's proably one of the neatest I've seen in a long time.

Most of the time you couldn't close the lid on them if you wanted to. lol
