I have a 4 port vodavi analog dispatch Rel 1 Buil 1, connected to a DHS-e version K18UV2.F05. The voice mail will lock up a port rendering the entire voice mail inoperative. If you call the analog stations there is ring generator comming out going into the voice mail but it will not answer.I have to reset the voice mail to release the port that it has lockedup. Six months ago I swapped the ATa's and it worked for six months so when it started locking up again I got a new ATA but it did not help. I tried to reinitialize the voice mail using ECom per the instructions in the manualbut I can't get it to work. When I type COPY *.* ..".at the c:\hello\dbace\orig directory it tells me bad command. What am I missing? Does anyone think a reinitializing will help or does it need to go in for repair.

Remove the DHS from the equation by connecting a CO line direct to the Dispatch. If it still fails to answer, then it is the Dispatch itself. Then connect a PC running a terminal emulation program and watch the loading process. I suspect it will stop somewhere along the way. If it stops at the "no device found" it means a failed hd. If it returns to "Hello" or continues to "Loading voice engine" prompt but never gets to the "OK" You have data corruption.
