Other than "the stick" is there another brand/model? Have a customer that wants CID, but does not want their phones to ring if it is an incoming fax.

It doesnt ring if the stick is installed correctly . The cid will pass mine does.

KenB....it depends on the phones that are attached to it. Nortel, for example have to ring a couple of times to "wake up" for the CID.

CID comes 'down the line' from the C.O. between the 1st and 2nd rings, and then repeats between the 5th & 6th rings, if I recall correctly.

You're right, John, but as the OP stated, the CID will only pass on to the phones IF the switch is set to ring twice before the switch kicks in FOR SOME PHONES.
I've got the same problem as the OP, and am hoping someone has a brand that this is not an issue.
I'm sure it's an engineering thing and if they get enough complaints, some brand will wake up to the reality and correct this.

We're not talking fancy systems here, just an ordinary POTS line e/w CID being shared between a fax and an ordinary CID (non-system) phone.
