Has anyone come up with replacement equipment for Alcatel dropping the newbridge mainstreet line of muxes and channel banks. We are mainly concerned about RS-232 DTU's (as newbridge calls them ). The end user equipment needs to be remotely monitored and programable like mainstreet, because we are 60 mile away from some of the remote sites . There isn't IP available at all sites with out line drivers being used .

The Newbridge 3624 was on the market for many years and there is a lot of hardware out there. Replacement parts should be available on the secondary market for the foreseeable future, although I don't know how popular RS-232 DTU was.
I'm not sure which T1 channelbanks still on the market have the same remote capabilities as the 3624.

I bet we have over 200, 2601 or 2751 DTU's in service we use them for alarm ckts. card readers etc. Goverment don't like the idea of ebaying equipment even though the mainstreet line is such a work horse we are tasked with looking for a replacement.
