Working with tfc-1000s20, The laser turns off if not receiving a signal. Reading, or should I say interpreting the documents for this device, changing dip 1 to 'on' should force the lazer to on? Is this correct? This device is new and I am trying to read the power level out-put with a Hobbes fiber tester pro.

When I power the converter up and observe the meter it displays "HI" level then displays "-30" then "lo" after a few seconds. Indicating the laser turns on (hot) for a few seconds then shuts down when not seeing an incoming signal. I am reading in the 1300nm scale.

This is the same scenario with dip 1 set to on or off.

Just for fun here is the wording in the documents from trendnet: clap
