Where are you finding this cordless thing and how much does it cost? Does it work on keystone and hubbel outlets? They are the most painful to my old hands.

I will agree that the 110 version that slams 5 pairs at a time is pretty nice. The impact is more of a "shock" than a "slam", meaning less impact on the terminal or the palm/wrist. I terminated over 24,000 pairs on a 110 frame in three nights a while back using an electric tool that was made by Harris/Dracon.

As for the one pair version... What's the point?

I think WU used BIX before they went VoIP which was a few years after the Civil War, .....we may have to get Ken Donald involved here because I'm pretty sure he was the one that wrote the WU VoIP code.............. laugh

I use the corded one from Ideal when we're cutting down closets. Standing with my hands at mid chest height killed me, I could hang the cord so the gun hung right there. Press and click a few hundred times and Im done. I like the idea of the cordless, but not the price.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was a joke. My BIX tool is and shall remain cordless. On the other hand, the arthritis slows me down, too...maybe something I need to consider.

WU used Fahenstock Clips didn't they?\

Actually they had soldered wire wrap in the switching aisles in the KC office. I worked there for 6 whole months in 1970. Then they converted to 'computers', or so they were described, and as the last hired I was the first fired, along with a few others.

REALLY? Cordless punch tool? I am always trying to teach the young techs about "technique" becuase they are always tilting the punch tool the wrong way & resulting in "pinching" the top of the wire on a 66 block or a 110 type jack which causes trouble tickets for me. There is a certain "finesse" to terminating copper to make sure the connection stands the test of time. I still use a screwdriver to drive screws into my backboards. Unless, of course I am installing a whole wall of blocks & equipment, then a cordless drill does come out, indeed!

And what Ed said!
