I agreed to relocate this old system for a friend and nothing more but now it looks like I may have to get into programming.
I am certified for Lucent, Panasonic, and Intertel and have worked with other systems but this is the 1st Comdial.
The only numbers I can find are: X2232 with
805 F under that. I also have a serial #.
I'm told it's about 20 years old.
It has 5 Amp. connectors, J1 through J5
J1 through J4 appear to be station ports,
I know J5 is CO input. The B block for J1 is
labeled Sta. 10, 10a, 11, 11B, 10b, 12
What does the A and B signify? Also I would like to default this as it's now in a residence and were only using 12 or 14 stations.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Wayne

What you have is a 2232 (22lines-32stations)
The A and B ports are for DSS consoles. You need a DSS hooked up to 10a for programming. Or you can program with a dummy terminal. I would suggest the DSS if you have one with the system.

DTMF, thanks, can you tell how old this system is. the serial # is 73245
Can you tell me how to default this and will that eliminate the DSS ports?
Right now there are phone sets connected to these ports and they seem to be working but
many don't ring.I figured it was something in the ringing assignments. All the phones are
6620 PG. Can I program with this or do I need
a display set?
How do the ports correspond to the pairs off the amp connectors? Are Manuals still available? Thanks again.

Its about 10 to 15 years old, you shouldn't hook up any thing to the a and b ports but DSS consoles thats what they are for, even in default. Yes you can still get manuals for them. Try Manuals Plus 1-770-438-0707.
But you need a DSS or a dummy terminal to program ( that's a must ).To default 1.(from station 110 with handset in craddle dial ITCM * 746 *) 2.(press program key C38 on DSS) 3. (dial 7051684) 4. (press * MONITOR)
You can use the phone that is working at station 110, it doesn't have to be a display.

I have always been told that the A or B is for the color

A-Ash
B-Black

Yes they are but they are referring to the breakout blocks.
