You can use a keyboard and monitor from another P.C. to program the system. The serial port is used for intergration features. What switch is it connected to?

This Comdial System does not have a connection for Monitor or for a keyboard.
It has 2 Com ports and the Dongle(parallel) port.
Is a Comdial Keyvoice System Business Lite.
It will be connected to a Nitsuko system.
thanks

Chino,
CMDL_GUY is right on the money. Get a keyboard and monitor from another PC in the office and plug them into the Voice Mail System not the Comdial.

Chino:

I'm certainly not a comdial expert but the Comdial SMALL OFFICE LITE--(a small grey or off-white & blue lettering) with "PC-looking" box) always has connectors for a keyboard & a monitor--not PS-2 connector-but old style and a monitor connector that LOOKS like a DB9. If that is what you have and without having the KeyVoice Remote software on your laptop the only way you CAN program this is with the right monitor and keyboard. If it isn't the Keyvoice Small Office or Small Office Lite----then let's find out what it is. Pop the cover on it to see if you have a video board etc----do you have a manual for it?? Good luck.

You aren't by any chance working on a DEBUT system?? That's a "voicemail-in-a-box" that only has a laptop serial connection---but you have to install the KeyLink software that came with the system onto your laptop. I think you need a null modem cable-M/F db9

orrrrr---a KeyVoice Lite (same thing, I think as the Debut). At any rate---1. Your KeyLink software, 2. DB9 M/F cable (try null modem first--then try straight)3. Laptop. That's the ticket. Good luck.

You said you have a Authorization Key in the parallel port, then you have a Lite, the Debut doesn't require one, If you can't find the old style keyboard and monitor then you will have to get the KeyLink communication software and use a laptop with a Null modem serial cable as JWRacedog posted.
