I used to be a Comdial Tech (FX Certified n such), and I thought that the 8312SJ's were Full Duplex Speakerphones....

The 'Impact SCS Phone' page from Comdial says no..
https://www.comdial.com/telephones/impactscs.asp

The flyer from that same page says yes..
https://www.comdial.com/brochures/impactscs.pdf

1/2 the dealers in the country I talk to say yes the other half no. Calling Comdial, I get 2 different responses..

Its a deal breaker (the 8412s are just too expensive in the volume we are looking at)

Any ideas?

_Joe

As far as I know they are Half Duplex, CMDL_GUY may know for sure.

is it possible that they <i>were</> full duplex and now they are not (old pdf vs. new site design)?

what other phones are full duplex ? I know of the 8324F, iPrimos and the 8412s.. are any of the old 8024/12 series Full duplex?

8312SJ is a speakerphone w/headset jack
8312SF is a Full duplex speakerphone

That is how I translate their letters, but I did notice that pdf from comdial that list it as a full duplex- I would guess its not.

Depends upon what system you are using them on and what software level.

Crabb is right and so is Tipandring.
The "F' at the end of the model number (but before the color id)on 83 and 84 series phones is for full duplex. And you need a to have the right software level for the system that you are using the phone on. Common code software needs to be 12A or higher. Common code is DXP,DXP plus, and FX

I suppose, to steal a line from Bill Clinton, It is all in how you define "full-duplex".
