Im looking for software to program a Comdial Impact 1632 from a laptop while on site. Does anyone know where i can get it and how much it cost's?

what version on procomm or procomm plus is needed? also, would hyper-terminal work??

I have used hyperterminal to connect to a 1632. I currently use ProComm plus Ver. 4.8 to connect to our DSU II.

Both will work fine, just make sure your settings match and emulate a VT100. mark

com port 2 you should check the system programing to see what the baud rate and other settings are, you can do this through ext 10 I think it's program 15 and step through the com ports by pressing 1, 2, etc.. But I didn't look that up in the manual. or just try 9600 - 8 - 1 first.

That is the right program to check port 1 and 2 for baud rate.

You might want to stay with com port 1 Most older (but not all) Comdial products have com port 2 at 300,7,2, by default for SMDR. If SMDR is turned (port 2)on and there is traffic on the switch you may not connect even if everything is correct.
