I have a new client with above system and wants to do some basic programming like put DSS keys on a few phones and change some ringing. Is the easiest way to use the serial port or just do it on the phones. Where can I buy/download a manual for this old beast...

You can get the manuals buy clicking the Manuals button at the top of the page. The easiest way is by phone, if they have a DSS at station 110, to program BLF buttons at stations just go to the phone and press Intercom 85 then press the button, then enter the station you want on that button, go to the next button press it and enter the station, when your done press Speaker to end, you do this at each station you want to program buttons for. For ringing you will need get into Station COS with the DSS and station 110 to program.
Edited for clarity

Is it possible to program via the smdr port on this system? I've got it cabled up and can see smdr traffic, but can't log in. Thanks
