I have a dxp plus I am using for testing and finally am able to connect to it directly through serial port on my laptop using hyperterminal with direct serial port connection. This is working fine. Now I would like to connect to it using vmmi. It keeps erroring out when I try to connect saying to check to make sure communication parameters are correct. I am using the same parameters as with hyperterminal.
9600 bits persecond, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.
In hyper terminal it gives me option for flow control which I set to none. I don't see this option in vmmi (I guess the flow control setting isn't important for vmmi)
The dxp plus is running release 174 with feature set 15b. The vmmi I have is release 195 with latest supported feature set being 17d (build # 17.11.03)
I even tried some old versions of vmmi that I had on a cd that a phone guy gave me. They didn't work either.
Can someone help me to figure this one out. I am new to this stuff so there may be an easy answer. Thanks!

I just figured it out. I was logging into dxp through hyper terminal and not logging out. Then I would immediately after try to login to vmmi and it wouldn't work. This was because I just disconnected my hyperterminal session but didn't logout of the dxp. Duh! As I said, I am still learning.
