We have a customer with a comdial dx80 who wants to add a door phone. I see the dx80 has a contact closure for this but is it on the main unit or is it an add-on card? Does comdial make a doorphone for this system? any help would be appreciated.

The contact closure is on the main processor of the base cabinet. It takes an 1/8" mini plug like you would use on an ear piece for a radio. Comdial does not make a door phone, viking electronics will have something. mark

Yes, using the Viking (w-2000) door box works pretty good. Just let it ring in on an open co port if you have one(usually use the last available one on a system) Don't forget to take this line port out of co hunt group 1 to prevent idle line preference from picking up on it.
