when replacing a services board on an fx-II the pri cards stay in alarm and I do not even get Icom dialtone. Are there any issues in replacing this card I am not aware of? I had thought I could just pull the old one out, move the cpu board to the new one, make sure the dip switches match and plug it in, turn the system back on and all would be well.....any help would soooo be appreciated.

Please Complete your Profile. you are correct about the srv-2. You need to only pull off the cpu and double check the dip switches. Are you replacing it with the correct card. There are srv-2 and srv-2 ii.You also need to have a certain revision depending on your software. ------------------ BIGDOG3c PARALLEL TECHNOLOGIES INC. Did you replace it with the same board type, as in services or services-II?

There are minimum software revs to coincide with different rev levels of Serv boards. Either you don't have the appropriate software level or you have a bad serv board.

If you are using T-1'(s), did you change anything with the Aux Bd, DXOPT-SYN, or the synch jumper? Also, what prompted the replacement of the SVC bd? Good Luck!

sorry have been away for a few..... yes the issue was the card was a srvc 2 ii, The card I had was not an ii...rookie mistake... also the reason for replacing it was that we had an issue with people being on a call then all of a sudden the caller would hear ringing, would not hear the person they were just talking to, yet that person could hear them. I had to guess at either the services card or the cpu....I picked srvc and so far that seems to have fixed the issue...appreciate all the help.

Thanks for checking back in to let us know how it went. It's always nice to see what the resolution ends up being. Man, that's the last time I change the icon on a post, when replying from my PDA. I meant to select "Thumbs Up", but ended up red-faced!
