I have a customer who requests that all calls be recorded 100% of the time in and out bound. They will have a PRI t1 going into the phone system. The phone system can record any call but has to be initiated on a per call basis. The customer requests that the recordings be done passivley on all calls 100% of the time and stored. Is there any recording equipment that can be installed ahead of the phone system, on the T1 that can monitor and record all the b-channels and pass the d-channel and b-channels to the phone system for normal call processing?

It will most likely have to go through some type of ACD or Autoattend to announce that the call is being recorded. Is your customer aware of the storage requirements and legal requirements for this. It won't be cheap either.

There is a product called VOICELOGGER. It will do what you want. Record incoming and outgoing calls. It stores the calls in its own server. Haven't had the opportunity to use it. Got the info from another vendor that has used it and says it is a good unit. I do not have the contact info but you can go on the internet and search for VOICELOGGER. It is currently a small privetly held company so the price is still reasonable. They have a service agreement that includes software upgrades.

Z- Thanks for the reply. I have told the customer it's not going to be cheap. And I plan on the AA to give warning before going to a menu. I also advised the customer to get legal advice from a real lawyer not just from me. I know of analog recording equip. that just half-taps on to the copper. This being a PRI T1, I am not familiar with equip. that can be place if front of the pbx as a monitor only and allow normal call progress on the pbx. I have found some products that look like they may do it. I just need a little more research. Many things look good in print but fade when exposed to reality!
