Greetings,
I'm hoping someone knows whether Verizon of southern california supports outbound caller ID? I've asked them if they support "outbound pulse" or "realtime ani" or "cnid feeds" and the sales people tell me it's not a product they offer.
I'm trying to find out if that's true or if I'm asking for the wrong product or the wrong question. It's hilarious to sense the salesperson's blank stare through the phone. :-)
(We have a T1-PRI with DID on DXP 17D, in case anyone was curious.)
Thanks in advance! -jeremy

Well more then likely they are going to only be able to send out the main number of the PRI from what you have posted.

Jeremy- what are you trying to accomplish? What protocol is your PRI? If you are trying to send out a SPECIFIC cid per set then that can be done with NI2 protocol and DXP programming. ------------------ Business Phone Systems

I have had issues with Verizon but it is possible. with your system you should be able to send your main, or station DID numbers.

Rather Be: The protocol is NI2. The goal is to be able to send caller ID by station rather than the main number.
In the past asking multiple people at Verizon multiple questions eventually gets me the information I need. So far they are maintaining that Verizon doesn't offer their customers the feature of sending CID info from our switch.
I know the DXP supports it, but it appears Verizon doesn't... At least if their sales crew is understanding my question and familiar with their offerings...
Thanks for the help, as usual. :-)

Thirty years ago we had a feature called AIOD in the bell system. Each line in an outdial group was assigned an AIOD number. Each AIOD group had a data link from the CO switch to the PBX. When a call was made on a line the PBX would send the AIOD number and the last four digits of the station making the call on the data link to the CO switch. The CO switch would change the number of the call form the main number to the station number. After the breakup of the bell system, these circuits just faded away. SMDR gave the customers all the information about billing they needed and Caller ID was not out yet. Fifteen years the AIOD equipment set there with no customers connected to it.
