The DXP ring generator is just not the same item as a DXP plus ring generator. You might need to refer to documentation for each to see the difference if you need clarification.

They are both called a ring generator-DXRING....I know the DXP generator has it's own power cord but it seems like if you unplug the cord that comes connected on the plus then you could use the DXP generator....I am trying to replace a digital voice mail with an analog therefore I am having to gather parts to make it work....ex. IST Card & ring generator. The only ring generator's we have are for the DXP.

The ring gen for the plus ends with -PLS. It is totally different than the ring gen for the DXP.

If you are not worried about warranty problems (I mean to the customer, since DXP Plus has been discontinued) and since you said it was only ringing a voicemail card, yes you can modify the connections to an old dxp ring generator, the input & outputs are exactly the same.

The main difference in the two are the amount of current available for the DXP plus Message waiting and ring currents.

I have done it 3 times already as the secondary market wants almost retail prices for a DXP Plus ring generator.
