"Another reason for a non Compete clause."

I agree - a Non-Competo letter has its place. As in not doing similar work on the side that your employer could have done. Nor should you take a confidential list with you when you leave your former employer.

In my case, I covered my ass by collecting biz cards from everyone I visited to show I was hustling up my own customer base.

Its a free market place. If you can build up your own custeromer base and can do a better job than he can, go for it.

Be careful not to step on your "Talley Wacker" for it is apparent you are not familiar with all aspects of the law in what you are doing.
