System config: Three CO lines into dx80, with the first two lines having caller id. Just wondering if the dx80 can be configured to show incoming line 2 caller id on the display on phone A if phone A is busy on a call on line 1.

With firmware A33 the caller id works on a busy station if the line is assigned to ring. I dont think this worked in earler firmware ie 28,24. This is not a programmable fuction that I know of. Caller ID follows ringing.

BillBo is right. On 33 and up, if the phone is programmed to ring, and the user feature " F#2 busy ring allow deny" is set to allow, caller ID will display. Mark

Is " F#2 busy ring allow deny" a feature that is programmable on each individual phone or systemwide?

It's each phone. It's a user feature, it's in the user guide. Mark

Ok. I see that now. So I changed F#2 to "allow" on one of the phones, call it phone A. I then took phone A off hook to busy line 1 and had someone call the main number (line 1) from line 3 to see if the display on phone A would show caller ID on that incoming call. Still no caller ID. Does is sound like I'm on the right track? How can I determine what firmware we have?

Take the cover off the KSU and look at the CPM on the right side. If you have VM it's under that board. you will see 2 chips side by side in slots marked U14 and U15, these chips will have a white sticker on them with the sw level listed.
I just ran some tests here on 39 & 40 SW. If the phone is in use no caller ID shows up, if you put the call on hold and make your set idle, you will get the caller ID. I thought the newer software showed it on ringing phones but it does not. Mark

CID will work on a busy station that is programed to ring if you use A33 Firmware.

That may be, I didn't test that and I don't have time until the weekend, maybe.
Thank's BB - does this matter if you ring through a UCD or direct from the C.O. Ans. Position? I only tested ringing through a UCD group on 39 & 40 and it didn't fly.
Rich T. check what SW you have. BillBo is probably correct because I thought it worked also, I installed many 33's and I thought it worked on everything from there up but 39 and 40 don't pass it when ringing through a UCD group, I didn't test on an answering position.
