It sounds like you are not getting a disconnect from the phone company so the voice mail is not hanging up

Steve C. is absolutely correct. I think you already posted about this before. Weren't you the one who recently switched from Verizon to a CLEC? They need to reconfigure the FXS ports on their channel bank to pass this disconnect signal to your system. There isn't anything wrong with your system or the Voiceworks. It's the lack of open-loop disconnect that is causing your problem.

Ed,

Is this the same one I was thinking of that was having trouble with the Voiceworks on Executech, or am I thinking of another one? I couldn't find the one I was thinking of.

The 2264 is an executech. I don't remember the previous post.

Just click on the "posts" number at the lower left-hand corner of the starting post in this thread for the author. It will show you their previous posts. I am not as quick as I used to be, but this one was eerily familiar. Sure enough, it was the same one. Here it is:

Daniel, have you tried contacting the new carrier? This is painfully obvious to us because we see it all the time. Don't back off with them. If they give you a hard time, I am sure one of us here will assist.

yes this is the same comdial2264 and voiceworks the customer changed from verizon to local carried T1 with channel bank . during the night when auto attendant is answering calls the ext 10 will get 20 voicemails in the morning with nothing but dead air or recordings that say if you would like to make a call please hang up and try again.

On a live call the customer hangs the phone up to disconnect because they know the call is over but when the call is in voice mail the voice mail has no way of knowing the call is over if it does not get a disconnect from the CO so it just stays on the line and follows what the programming tells it to do. I would be shocked if it was not a telco issue

And by the way from previous experience it is always a pain in the butt to get the Telco to get this right or admit it's a problem. Ed is right you have to stay on them.
