Here is the current setup:
- Comdial FX Phone System
- Wideopen Office 5H - Client and Server
- Impact Call 5H
- Windows XP Pro with SP2
- ACT! Standard 7.0.4

Impact call works with no problems. I can dial, forward, etc.

What I can't get to work is the dialer integrated in ACT!

First, if Impact call is installed on the computer, ACT! some times doesn't open at all and when it does there is no Comdial Tapi device in the ACT! dialer preferences.

I also noticed if I use the Windows XP's built in Dialer, it doesn't list the Comdial TAPI Device either.

The Comdial Impact Integrator TAPI Service Provider is showing up in the "Phone and Modem Options" in the control panel.

Is it because Comdial's TAPI service provider is Outdated?
Nobody at Comdial seems to know what the problem is.

The customer purchased the Comdial System and CTI apps specifically to dial through ACT!

Would appreciate any help.

Thank you,
Novak

After trying to get ACT! working with Comdial Impact Integrator TAPI Service Provider I finally gave up.

I called Comdial and they have NO idea why Impact Integrator doesn't work with ACT!. They say to use Impact call with Macros to dial with ACT! To me this is a "Mickey Mouse" way of doing it and the customer agrees.

I also called Sage(ACT!) and they said Comdials TAPI Service Provider is outdated, I agree. I've been working with Comdial CTI for about 7 years, the apps and drivers have not changed very much.

If a customer want's CTI, I won't be using Comdial!

Try using corporate call instead of Impact call.

For some unknown purpose most TAPI services do not work with ACT 7.0.X , that did work with ACT 6.0
Vertical\Comdial is not the only TAPI affected in this release of ACT.
I have heard the response for Act is that 7.0 will only work with modems. As every modem will have a unique TAPI driver, it is strange it will not work with other TAPI drivers.
May be ACT will get their act together and fix this. Other wise Gold Mine may get a boost.
