This has to be done from an administrator phone which can be different in every system.

Press ITCM
Dial *#0*53
Dial extension number
(dial number plus # if extension number is less than 4 digits)
Dial # to clear current entry

Then you need the letter code table

A=21
B=22
etc.

They can find this in their LCD system reference manual on page 10-9 if they have GCA70-250

Dial 2 digit codes up to 7 letters
Dial # to save
Press Speaker to finish

The key to figuring out the codes for the letters is to look at your dial pad on your phone. A is the first letter on the 2 button, therefore, A=21 (number 2 button, 1st letter). This just in case you don't have the System Reference Manual that shows the full chart of letters and codes.

Well I'll be. I've been working on Comdial systems for 19 years and I never knew that!! I thought they just assigned random numbers. Man, do I feel like a fool.

Stoph,
Don't feel bad. Same here - been doing this Comdial thing for quite a while and didn't realize it.

CUDOS to 5years for the info.
