Customer has a dsu II (rev 5c) with 4-port small office lite and serial integration. Com port 2 is used to collect smdr data using capture text via hyper terminal. Com port 3 is connected to voice mail for serial integration. Everything worked perfect for over a year. Monday they came in and the smdr would not work. Also they noticed that they had lost the "record" option in their display;where it usually has (ARDL SAVE REC) instead it has (ARDL SAVE TIMER). Also the message count does not show up in the display. I was able to connect laptop on com port 1. I saved everything and did a master clear but it didn't fix any of the problems. Also I tried text capture straight to my laptop with no results.

Any ideas on where to go from here appreciated!!

Make sure your voicemail ports are connected in the correct order. Other than that, it's possible something blew out your com ports.

I had one that we had to power down for 5 min's and then the com ports would work again. I've also had ones that never work again

here is something to try. Pull off the stations one by one. I have seen if the station wiring is shorted to any station the serial port goes bad. Just an idea.
