A33 DX-80 has a phone that beeps. Sounds like the confirmation tone when you enable something--like Headset mode of something like that. This phone is not the attendant but is in a UCD group with 8 other sets and UCD group is set for All ring. System and phone has been reset--no change. Phone set has been changed--no change. Have enabled & disabled Headset mode--no change. Any ideas?

Is it when they press the dialpad? Feat #1 will fix those tones.

JW, tell me what needs to be done to cause the beep. Or, if you can see any rhyme or reason (incoming call, page, etc...) of when it occurs.
Are you sure it's the phone and not a battery back up that's nearby?

The phone is just sitting there--and it beeps---all day long from what I hear--but not in a rhythmic manner---just every so often. I would guess once every 3-10 minutes; but then it may go a bit more frequently at times. I will change out with about three phones...it it does it with all three phones, then I guess I'll change ports.

The phone rings, intercoms, and does everything else normally as much as we can tell. The beep, however, is quite annoying.

I'll take a look at it this Saturday to see if it has anything to do with outside ringing. Will report back.

It isn't a battery back-up---but for sure coming from the phone.

How bizarre. Installed many systems and have not heard of this. :shrug:

yeah, new to me too. Keep us posted. Could be an "undocumented feature" like whenever a cell phone gets too close to it, or some other interference.

What about some sort of alarm or alert or wake-up indicator?

You say it's part of a UCD group, but I'm guessing you've already checked ringer volume to make sure it's not just ringing, but with the ringer turned off?

I went there today to look at Station 104--the beeping phone. I sat there for 10 minutes--no beeping. I tested all of the lines for ringing--then tested the lines while the station was busy--It did not ring in a low volume like I was expecting but gave one short "beep" and then quit. The line key still blinked.

After checking out some other things on the phone, I went back to the shop and started going through the user guide & the manual. F#2 caught my eye--Busy Ring-Allow/Deny. Page 3-33 "When a CO line is ringing...to a busy extension and Busy Ring is denied, the user will hear a single burst of warning tone."

I don't know if that's the culprit--I'll find out next week. The "busy" part bothers me--because that doesn't quite fit the description of what was going on...but I'll check it out some more.
