Anyone ever have this problem. On an MP5000 w/latest release. - laptop has XP home edition and latest VMMI. We can connect over TCP/IP just fine. Can connect via serial cable with hyperterminal. Can't connect using VMMI with serial cable.

I haven't seen that problem Mark, but I've not worked on the newest release, I don't believe.

You do need the Latest version of VMMI 212
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel..

If you are using a usb to serial adaptor out of your laptop. Try using a different manufacturer. I had this problem getting into a FX system. I was using a Belkin adaptor. Hawking H-UC232S adaptor did the trick. You talk about frustrating. I could connect with hyper terminal but not VMMI until I changed. Good Luck
