I just cut a 22 phone DX80 w/8 port flash voice mail. The customer has a need to light 5 message lights from one voice mail box. Comdial says it can't be done. I can do it on my Interchange by using lighting one, flash, %pause, lighting the second etc. and increase the flash time to 1200 ms. but the problem is that the field is limited to 20 charachters. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

Try having it go from the first box to a group box with the other 4 extensions in it. Use the copy to portion of the programming. Might work for you.

Let me clarify a little more. A group box would work to send the message and turn on the light but I also have to be able to turn that light off by checking one mailbox.

That part isn't going to work.

OK - where there's a will there's a way. Here's how it can be done.

We put an analog extension number into message delivery (box 150 matching the analog port) with 14 L's (long pause) behind it. Set it to try every 2 minutes with 99 for repeat setting. Then we put a 'behive lamp' (Viking LM-1A) on the analog port. When a message is recieved in the box it does what it's programmed to do in the message delivery area. The analog port rings and to the customer looks like a message lamp. When the message is retrieved the lamp stops. The only drawback is there is about a 20 second pause between each cycle of the message delivery.
