I am used to Nortel and new to Comdial. I figured out how to add 3 more lines to my customers system, but I can't figure out how to have the first 2 lines ring and lines 3 through 7 appear but not ring. Is this possible? THANKS!!!! Laura

Ohio, Please answer questions on the board if you can do it without giving program passwords.
LuLu, When you program a line for "direct ring" on an extension, if it is currently programmed to direct ring on that line it will toggle the ring off, if it is not programmed to ring on that line it will toggle it on. So if it rings on line 3 -7 now, programming direct ring for lines 3 - 7 on that set will toggle the ring for those lines to off. Mark

Mark K. thought the rules were you only give "end user" advise. Or have they changed? Sorry hard to keep up, seems to change daily.

Ohio, No your right, the standard is end user info. and I didn't mean to poke at you. The goal is to answer as best we can without giving away the farm by spreading passwords and step by step instructions that allow end users to be dangerous, while still providing enough insight to keep the forum usefull when a tech is searching for a resolution to a problem. As you can see by my answer to LuLu, there is enough information for a tech to understand the manual and figure out how to program, but not enough for an end user to accomplish the task without more guidance. The incidence of "PM sent" with no further response has been rising and while often it is necessary, sometimes it isn't. Depending what you wanted to tell LuLu, yours was probably appropriate and the best way for you to handle it. So whenever you can shed a little light on a topic, without enabling an end user to by pass calling a real tech, that's desirable. You could still also send a PM if you want to give more detail. Does that make sense? Mark
