I talked with a customer today that had worked at another Patel Motel,he said they had a device on the door which would ring his cordless phone when the door opened ,ever Hear of one ,if so what brand and info ,If I were guessing i would say it was a two mline cordles and some stand-a-lone device was hooked to second line or it interfaced with an alarm system.the way he vaguely described it it was a completely different tone. Thanks

I've actually seen an application of such. If it's a "Patel Motel" as you say it's probably a Pana or a Mitel. If you just want to ring the phone then take a doorphone modual for what ever system you have and tie the line into a N/O contact. If your looking for actual conversation mount a doorphone on the ceiling or close by and parallel a N/O door contact into the call switch.

I am familiar with doorbox applications ,but according to them the ringing was activated when the door opened, and nothing was pushed ,just opening door initiated ringing. Thanks

Gene, that's what I was saying, parallel a door contact in with the button of the door box. This way when the door opens it will act the same as if someone pushed the button
