I've recently begun NetAdmining a small law office that uses Comdial Impacts. One of the ITCM lines still bears an old name. I can't figure how to change the name to a new one. I followed the ITCM>*#0*33>line name procedure, but it didn't make a difference. What do I need to do?

Line names is not station names. You are wanting to change a station name. As I mentioned in my PM, we need to know the SYSTEM model, not just the phone model (8024S is the phone model).

System model is the DSU, according to the manual. Though the manual is a little off on button functions.

Well it definitely makes a difference. Just because the manual says DSU doesn't really confirm anything. Can you get to the phone system, where you can actually SEE it? If so, get the model number from the sticker on the side, or at least describe it.

I actually have no idea where they stuck the system. Any ideas for what I'd be looking?

It's going to be a metal cabinet with cables coming out of it. The cables would be going to some sort of wiring block, most likely. The unit may actually have a Comdial nameplate on the front. The unit could be gray or black.
If you are in a multi-suite building, there may be a common equipment room ("phone room").

The only thing we have even remotely close to fitting that description is a CAT .5E with the designation 568 B underneath that. Made by Allen Tel Products.

Scratch that...Had to get hold of the building admin to let me into our room. It didn't have any kind of identification on it, but it did mention something about FX in the serial numbers.

If that's the case, then your DSU book is the wrong book.
