I was wondering if anyone had some experience with programming an FXII over IP? I'm not sure what hardware I need. I currently have a VoIP board and assigned it an IP,mask, and gateway. I can ping the board but cannot connect through VMMI. I have tried changing the parameters and tried ports 2076-2079. There is no firewall between the system and my PC so there shouldn't be any port blocking going on. Is it even possible to program through the VoIP board? Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

Can't program through the VoIP board. Put a serial to IP converter on your CPU.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a part number for this or is it something I can make my own version of?

Google any serial to IP converter. You can get them many places. I have never seen them homemade.

More expensive option, but upgrading to an MP5000 would also give you TCP/IP programming capability, since the CPU3 (forgot the part number) has that capability built-in.

We use the Precidia I-pocket serial converter for the FXIIs.

I've used Lantronix most prevalently. Just put a UDS-200 on yesterday and it was a snap! Uses the same DB-9 adapter that you uwould use for a PC. Just set the IP and baud rate and your done. Contact me if you need further assistance.
