We utilize Supermicro equipment and I was told that Nortel just wasn't flexible enough for our PBX System solution services. Does anyone have any good/bad things to say about Supermicro equipment?

Actually, Asterisk IP-PBX software is our main sytem core. It operates on a Linux server. We also utilize the ECS components, which supports all types of trunks including VoIP, analog POTS, T1, E1, PRI, and BRI. It utilizes a variety of advanced telephony protocols such as SIP, H.323, IAX and devices such as analog telephones, IP telephones, soft phones and IP gateways.
What I'm interested in, though, is the Supermicro hardware good/bad feedback?

Ah, heard of asterisk actually played with it for a while. Considered it a huge waste of time thus money. Most IT guys that understand linux will bury themselves in this as a project...the never ending project. Good luck.

However, for a clone type server vendor I have heard VERY VERY good things about this firm: https://www.aberdeeninc.com/index.html Aberdeen will configure a server the way you wish and let you try it out for 30 days. If it doesn't meet your expectations you get to send it back. Name one major brand PC Server vendor that allows that and is in writing for a company of 1 or a company of 1,000,000 employees. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/wink.gif) ------------------ NEC Unified Solutions / Voice Mail and Unified Messaging | Active Voice, LLC ![[Linked Image from activevoice.com]](https://www.activevoice.com/images/graphic_controlcommunications.jpg)
