I recently replaced a Comdial DSU II that was hit with lightning.
I am having various problems related to voice mail which I believe to be serial integation troubles.
Using a Keyvoice Debut (Brick) with four ports tied to digital ports on system.
Although the Lcd screen says VMAIL and it calls the voice mail system, the lcd prompts do not change as normal.
I also have a couple stations with a flashing message light that shows' call (whatever the name is programmed for station 20).
Can not clear the message waiting light either (ITCM #3, station number).
Originally I was not able to call the voice mail until I moved the the station ports to ports 2,3,4 on voice mail and reprogrammed
the hunt links on the ksu.
1 Will the serial intergration work if I am not using the first port of the Debut"?

2 If my com port is bad on the debut. Isn't there a way to use the other com port for serial integration.?

If any one has any suggestions, reminders or tips on getting the serial integration to work properly I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Doug

Station ports have to match the appropriate file in the Debut or it isn't going to work. There is no way to use a different com port on the DSU for vmail integration. The VMAIL will display on the DSUs when you turn on visual voice mail whether the mail is functional or not.

The file in the debut that has to match the station ports, is that in the vm.cfg file?

Com port on DSU is supposed to be Com 3 correct?
I was actually referring to the com ports at the bottom of the debut.

I understand about the visual voice mail.

Thanks
