Hi,

Thought that I would check with everyone here before I go to e-pay. I am looking for a transformer for my princess phone as well as some spare lamps for my 1A2 keysets.

I would rather pay a little more and deal with the real phone folks that hang out on the phone tech support forum than strangers on e-pay.

Unfortunately I got rid of most of my spare lamps a few years back- but you really don't need too many. I went 20 years at home before I changed one or two.

I may have the princess transformer. Do you know the model number? I believe that one was 6 volts AC, but I can't remember.

The good news about the Princess lamps is that they were a GE slide-base bulb and most electronics suppliers still carry them. Even if you can't get them at the original voltage rating, you are still talking about a 1:1 ratio between the transformer and the lamp. If you can only get a 12 volt (most likely) bulb, using an 18 volt transformer should be OK.

Remember that with the Princess phone, a resistor was inserted in the circuit when the phone was on-hook for the 'night light' function, where the voltage to the lamp was effectively cut in half. As long as you keep things in perspective with regard to input voltage, you will be fine.

I may have some spare keyset lamps, but won't be home until May to check...
