The phones that work on the 824 will work on later 616's

Yeah I know John...but he saw a 61630 and thought it was a "neat" phone..so now he wants that type...go figure..At this point I would take anything that works with it and tell him I couldn't find any. Got any laying around?

I have none. Try our kind benefactor here and then, maybe, dare I say it, E-bay.

No, 61630's are not "NEAT". Grab 7730's and be done with it. Point out that you get TWELVE Personal Feature Buttons and TWELVE lit buttons instead of 6 and they are all the same size, and he can even get backlit displays and lighted dials (7731) and he can get neat paper desi strips to put his numbers in for the price of having Excel like porgrams, a printer and a pair of scissors. Unless he likes yellowed/ash, the 61630 is pretty much an obsolete item and you're going to have a very hard time finding them.

Besides, it's a 20 year old phone.

I agree Carl...you should see the 616..looks like it was the 100 yard marker on a driving range...the 7730's are better for sure, the quest continues !!!!!
Thanks John...I will check above..but the "evil empire" I think I will stay away from......

They are available, but here's where the economics lesson comes in. You tell the customer you can find them for $180 each with a 6 month warranty or you can get new 7731's for less than that. Our host claims to have them in stock. Either purchase will make you happy :-)

Carl, be sure to point out that the 61630's don't work on modern systems....at least they're not supposed to.

My friend's house is full of those yellowed 61630 phones, upgraded him to a 624.
Why not at least get the 7030 phones, lol

Carl...did you read the first post..It's one of those "buddy" jobs...so I'm a little limited about the ole 160 take it or leave it deals...I see the host does have some 7731's listed..so I will check that route and see what happens...
