have the T0616 system installed and working fine with 3 incoming lines. on line 1 we have a resisdential answer machine wired to the lines ahead of the unisyn equipment. as calls are answered by the machine, they are also going out on the p.a. i have line 6 configured as AUX for use with the p.a. why are incoming calls going also to the p.a. thru line 6?

since it is a Unisyn system and the system has analog port capabilities, why not attach the answering machine to a station port?

it's all tip and ring

thanks forthe suggestion, frank. first of all we have used all of the first 8 ports and dont plan on any more so, only only one punch block was created. and then i assumed the anwering mach was an IST device and the voice pairs would only work for that during a power failure. so, if my configuration is not a bad one, i'll go with it. if having the answ mach wired to the main line is a problem, please tell me. everything is working fine at the moment...

The IST ports are only "fired" up if equipped.
