Customer wants to leave messages in employees' VM without having to call their extension and waiting several rings for extension to CFNA to VM. It was possible on the old DSU systems. Is there a sequence of key strokes that can be used on the DX-120 flashcard VM?

Set the Transfer Type to 0 - None. Its parameter 2120 or you can set it with keylink. 'Blind' transfer type rings the set. *EDIT. JW has a much better solution.

1. Transfer Key 2. Voice Mail Key 3. Extension Number(3 digits on keypad) 4. Hang Up
Note: Using this procedure is for incoming calls to be transferred directly into the voice mail box.

Sorry....I realized that after I posted my question, the topic was mis-worded. No outside lines are involved, so the Transfer method won't work.
Let me rephrase my question. User wants to leave a message in another person's VM, but does not want to call that person's extension and wait for the call- forward-no-answer timeout of three rings.
That sounds petty, but the customer could do it on his old Comdial Executech that had an ESI VM and wants to do it on the DX-120.

I don't think what the customer wants is possible.
I've gone over the VM docs and can't find anything that applies to what I'm trying to do without going through a complicated string of commands that would take longer to do than simply calling the other person's extension and waiting for three rings no answer before leaving a message.
Again, its not the traditional Transfer to Voice Mail that I'm trying to accomplish as Transfer to Voice Mail requires the person to be on an outside line call or internal intercom call first before transferring the call to VM.

On the DX-120 I have set up in my shop--the keystrokes are:
1. VM Key 2. DSS key 3. MSG (interactive key) 4. VMsg (interactive key) rings twice then beeps 5. Start talking
It's a few more keystrokes than what they may want---but it's fairly simple if they do it a few times---but I agree--it may be simpler to just call the station--but I've tried those keystrokes above--and it's not bad. The best thing is that it doesn't have any greeting to it--so you just start recording. Fairly quick if you've done it before. Try it.

Racedog...Ok, that's what I might be looking for. Better than the more convoluted idea I was looking at. Too bad you can't cantonate the keystrokes into an abbreviated speed dial key.

The only other way (I like JWRacedog's method better) is to log into your mailbox, press 2 to send a message, enter the mailbox number to send the message to, then leave the message.

I showed him both ways the other day. Logging into your own mailbox and password, # key, and 2, then the target mailbox followed by 1 key is the fastest.

Racedogs steps are all correct but I think step 1 can be skipped if user doesn't mind hearing the intercom tone.
