Will the flash vm work for both the dx-80 and 120 or do they make different ones for each? My reason for asking is I recently wanted to set up one line to answer with an end user's greeting by changing the trans.txt setings. Although this was a new dx-120 system, the trans.txt files still referred to the trunks as 740, 741, etc. and not 800, 801... as they are numbered in the 120. I did get it to work by changing the trunk number from 744 to 804. Only problem is when it answers it first says "I will transfer the call now" Then it plays the users personal greeting. How do you get it to skip the "I will transfer the call now" part?

It's the same mail board.
Exactly what are you trying to do, ring the ext. then drop to the MB or go directly to the MB? So you set 804 to equals what?

Line 5 rings only at ext 108; auto attendant picks up after no ans. time 4-5 rings and I want ext. 108's message to play when it answers. I think I set 804=108 in the appropriate trans.txt entry. I set transfer type to none to speed things up since it already rings at the station 4-5 times.

Easier solution:
Set trunk as private to extension 108 and delete your Trans.txt entry. Calls will ring to 108 only and follow the no transfer directly to that MB. Mark

The problem with that fix is other stations loose access to that line because it is private to 108.

Try putting *,* behind the trans.txt entry (804=108*,*). I have always found that you need *,* behind the mailbox number for it to go to that mailboxes greeting.

Right, the *,* allows the system to send a string after the mailbox number, such as the number '2' to leave a message.
Without the *,* the vm will ignore any digits received after the mailbox number
