I think Justin has the best plan, a phantom box with fwd on it, if you can train the reception desk to send it to the right place.

Thanks for the responses guys... the customer is once again b!t@hing about this.
These are all great options in my opinion, but not so good in the customer's - all options I have found require additional effort by either the receptionist /transferring person, or by the caller to dial the extension from the auto attendant, etc.
Although it seems to be a rather peculiar / picky request, I definitely see where the customer is coming from... there should be a way to silence the d@mn phone!
This is in a realtor's office... the agents constantly have clients in their office and get tons of phone calls that need to be transferred to vmail when they are busy. There is a lot of activity in this office, so when they hear the phone ring (yes, I know that it is a distinctive short double-ring... but)it distracts them and they are awaiting an announcement, important call, etc. and there is more than a handful of them who are complaining.
I am going to suggest this as a feature / option request for future releases. Thanks!
