Hello everyone,
I provide MOH for a client who has a Comdial FX II phone system. I have never worked with an FX II and don't really know anything about them other than what I can find on the internet. The client is on the other side of the country from me so I'm having to communicate with them via phone.
It seems that they recently lost power to their phone system due to storms, and when the system was brought back up, the MOH volume has dropped to a very low level. The volume level for the MOH was fine before their system went down.
From what I can determine the MOH imput level for the phone system is 500 ohms, and the MOH device is currently set to 1K ohms. I know that this is a bit of a mismatch, but, once again, it was working fine before their system went down.
Through speaking with the client we determined that the MOH is using an audio cable that is RCA where it is plugged into the MOH device and RJ-11 where it connects to the phone system.
Is there a way to turn up the MOH volume in the programming of the phone system?
If I need to, I believe I can make an RCA to RJ-11 cord with a transformer from 1K to 500 ohms, (if I can find a transformer for that), but I'm not sure if this would make a difference in the volume level, or what pins I would need to attach the MOH to on the RJ-11 jack.
Does anyone have any suggestions or answers because I'm a bit stumped and just want to get this up and working for my client.
Thanks in advance.
