We have an FXII with Feature set 17D (Can I upgrade past this feature set?)

We purchased some used Impact phones model 8412F-FB Revision: B. When we plug them up to a digital station card, the lcd displays "No communication" flashing, a copyright date, and date code as well as a firmware #.

I tried adjusting the phone model drop down in VMMI but that doesn't seem to help at all. And there isn't really an exact description of these phones available in the drop-down anyway. The closest thing I see is "Impact SCS 12-Line LCD Speaker". However, it seems to correct if I disconnect and reconnect in VMMI, showing "Impact SCS 12 Line Large LCD FD Speaker".

Note: We're using Impact 8024S-GT (24-Line LCD Speaker) with no problems on the same digital station boards.

Do I need to update the Feature Set?
Is there some sort of firmware that needs updating?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bet you're hooking it up to a SDS port. Check your board...must be an LDS. 17D will run large screens just fine.

Spot on! Thank you!

Our old Comdial dealer, whom originally installed this system, put in (1) SDS and (1) LDS. For unknown reasons, he used the LDS to tie in Interchange. So 12 out of the 16 ports are occupied by Voicemail ports.

Is it easy to swap the two boards? Or would I need to reconfigure every single station port on the two boards after swapping them?

I believe a board type change (even though they are both digital) will require a reprogram. It would be easier to just move the voicemail ports over to the SDS board.
