I looked through all of the posts and did not see this question, so I apologize in advance if it has already been asked.
Does anyone know if there is a way to enable CFOS remotely? For example, if I am unexpectedly out of the office, I have to call someone at the office and ask them to put CFOS on for me. I would like to be able to do this without having to hassle somebody else. In other phone systems I've been able to do this via the voicemail options, but I can't seem to find that option with the Comdial FXII.
Thanks Heidi

Do a search in this forum using ECF. That's external call forwarding.
You might try looking for that in one of your user guides too.
It's relatively easy to do---and it works!! As compared to some other systems.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the quick response! I did search the forum and I can't find my question exactly. Maybe I wasn't clear, I am able to program the phones to forward to an offsite number without any problem, and it works great. I'm wondering how I do it if (hypothetically) I decide at the last minute that I'm going to work from home for the day. The way it works now, is that I've got to e-mail or call someone at the office and ask them to walk over to my desk to push the CFOS button on my phone. It seems to me that there should be a way to do this myself when I dial in to check my messages.

YIKES!!! Boy---did I misread your question....
I was thinking that you were talking about a DX-80---and just needed to call fwd your phone to your cell phone. Sheessshh.
Question: Is your VM a KeyVoice/Corporate Office?
Hopefully, someone with FXII experience & certification will see your question and read it right. Good Luck.

Remote CFOS can be enabled using the DISA application if I remember correctly. DISA would have to be set up or enabled prior to.

Dial phone number to get DISA tone. Dial DISA access code, dial authorization number associated with your extensions, dial *56 to toggle on/off if you already have the number setup.

Thanks guys, I'll look into this. I found the DISA settings and will try out your suggestions. Sorry for asking trivial questions, this is my first experience with Comdials.

HeidiT, Caution, be very careful when doing your DISA set up. You are essentially opening up your system if you are not careful for Hackers and Automatic Dial systems, where they could get into your system and start making over seas calls by the hundreds if not protected carefully. I have had some direct experience with this where a customer of mine enabled their DISA access and incurred 10K worth of long distance calls in just one weekend. Thought that was worth passing on to you. Good luck in your set up. Let us know how it worked for you.

Good advice, TechSERVE. HeidiT, definitely make sure an experienced and knowledgable Comdial tech sets this up for you, if that's what you opt to do. They should be able to provide some protections to prevent (or at least severely minimize the damage that could be caused by) the hacking that TechSERVE mentioned. Just remember that nothing is perfect, and most safeguards can be overcome with enough know-how and diligence.
Back to the question about your voicemail...what do you have for a voicemail, and what version is it?
