Customer has a DX120 with F20 upgrade and a flash drive VM installed. System has been running several months without any problems with VM. I was told today the message waiting lamp for new voice mail has not worked for about a week.

Since it has been working, for a start I'll rule out a prior programming mistake in the past. I can duplicate it other phones. The green VM message light does not come one AND there is no indication on the LCD screen.

Rebooting the system didn't resolve the issue. I'll take my laptop out tomorrow and look at a few things. Any ideas?

Are you using the backplane integration to turn on the lights? If they have changed the extension that their mailbox transfers to, this can cause issues with message waiting lights.

Tried a few things to narrow the scope of the issue.

I defaulted the system and programming one of the extensions that had the problem for CF busy & no ans. MW light worked. Reloaded the database MW light worked, but....

Password to check messages didn't work, a reboot fixed that, but....yet another extension had a password problem after a reboot. Forced a password rest via admin mailbox and it worked...but, the MW light didn't work again.

I'll reprogram the system from scratch in the morning.

I re-programmed the whole system from scratch using a keyset and it works fine now.

Did I not have a backup of the database? Could I not use PCDBA on my laptop? No....

PCDBA worked great yesterday, I installed a Windows SP last night, now PCDBA keeps crashing.
