I want to take the option to press 9 to grab a line off. I changed the pbx digit to 7 so 9 wouldnt work. Still grabs a line. I also tried putting all the co's in group 2. Now they get dead air when pressing 9. Is there an option to put the system into key mode? I just want them to have line appearance and press that line when they want to use it.

Thats the way it is when you take it out of the box. Put them all back in the group 1 (dial 9 group) then program an appearence for each line on the button you want it on. Just program the directory number of the line on a button using the feature # 3 code. Set up one phone then use the button copy to copy it to any others.

There is no parameter to put it in "key mode" the lines have to be in a group to be used for outgoing calls. Tell the people to choose a line and stop using the 9.

Tell them that you will super-glue all of the 9 keys on all of the phones. No matter how hard they push it---no line will be accessed.

I would leave them with that, in a week they will stop trying it. I think your customer is unreasonable. I wish I could get some customers to use the dial 9 feature.

Try Feature 95 set to icm, then they must select a line apperance; however they can still dial 9 but only if you tell them about that.

Well thats the way it is now. I have line appearance. They have to press the line they want. They are just used to pressing 9 to pool a line cause all the buttons were programmed for extensions. Basically they just need to unlearn 9 and you know how it is getting a customer to unlearn something.

Dumb question, what's wrong with dialing 9?

The "best" question I have had in a while about pressing 9:

Customer: "Well, can we just have a button to press for an outside line so we do not have to press 9?"

Me: "Well, I suppose that we could do that, but frankly it would be the same thing....just instead of pressing 9 you would be pressing a different button...?"
