Hi. I'm using Comdial Impacts phones and Small Ofiice Lite for our VM system.
I'm trying to change our main greeting, as we have had some changes in the office, and the trouble I'm facing is recording time.
The lady who did the previous recording was able to say a nice message and list the extensions. However, I'm barely able to get through "Thanks for calling, sorry we can't get to your call."
Any help would be appreciated!

The maximum message length for the box is set up in the Class of Service. However, if you are changing an existing message which is longer than the one you are trying to record, the message length should already be set up. If you are setting up a new box then check the COS.

You should also be aware that if you are recording in a room with a loud background noise(fans, voices, music) the system will interpret that as a disconnect. Unless you've changed mailboxes the COS should not have changed. Try recording from a different location if the mailbox you're recording is the same as the previous lady recorded.

1. Make sure you are recording the greeting and not the "name" for the box. 2. Make sure you do all recording using the handset and in a quiet area, no speakerphone. 3. If the system detects silence for a period of time, it will think you are done recording and stop. Make sure you're speaking directly into the handset and dont pause for too long. 4. Make sure the Class of Service for the box has a recording time that meets your requirements.
If you are doing all of this and it is still cutting out, you may need to adjust the sensitivity on the vmail. You'd need a Comdial tech do do this though as it involves making som echanges directly to Comdial system files on the voicemail.
