DX-80 CPM K16UM0.C28
run diagnostics test report and get this result using (PC-dba a39)
diagnostic-CPM failed rs232-1 pass rs232-2 pass rom pass ram pass
I have run individual board and port test and they all pass. why would I get a cpm failed ? Everything seems to work. Sta to sta connects . I used the analog ports to similate CO loop and they connect both ways. SMDR outport works. all in all I can not find any faults in system.
searched other forums and found some advice to initialize\default system 2 or 3 times. Is this the same as performing a COLD START ? and if so what is the exact procedule for a cold start. Place jumper on cold start and wait a certain amount of time or is there other interaction you do ?
My experience has always been ATT/Lucent/Avaya where ther was a 6 or 7 digit code to reinitialize system.
any thoughts on this one?

I have never had a CPM pass the on board diagnostic test. It was explained to me from tech support that the failure is a false condition. I wouldn't worry about it. I always put the cold start jumper on for 10 seconds although a shorter time period seems to suffice just fine.
