I have a Comdial FXII system with Keyvoice Voicemail. This system supports two locations/buildings that are 27 miles apart connected via an MPLS connection. My issue:
1. When I can call a station/Ext within the same location, in either location, the station will ring four times then go to voice mail. Good, this is what I would expect.
2. However, from one of my buildings I encounter the following problem; when I do a station to station call from one location/building to the other location/building the system rings four times then gives me and error "I'm Sorry that was not a valid entry" from the other building/location it works just fine, rings four times then goes to VM.
Voice mail works correctly for any call to either location from an external caller. It is only when I am making a station to station calls from one location to the other. And then only from one of my buildings do I encounter this issue.
Confused, relative Telcom newbie, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Doug

You're going to have to trace the call with the built in diagnostics to see what the voicemail system sees.

I have run the trace program and what appears odd to me is that when I make a station to station call from the building with no problems I see the call attempt with the three digit extension and then a successful rule 6 and the call goes to VM. However, from the building where I am having a problem I see the call being attempted with a four digit extension. The system appears to be adding a "2" to the three digit extension that I am attempting to call ex. I am trying to call ext 114 and the trace is displaying 1142. the trace goes through all the rule sets with "No" responses and then gives the I'm sorry that is not a valid entry" message. Does that give you any additional information or is there something else that I am missing?
Again thanks for your help

Hi, here are two call examples from the Trace Log. Hope this gives a better picture of the problem that I am having.
Thanks Again, Doug

Well, after doing some digging... It looks like the appended "2" is associated with Voice Mail Integration Digits? The VM Integration digit settings are currently the same for both locations (The one that is working and the problem child)However, as stated previously, the problem is only occuring in one of the locations.
My question is... why does the system insert the "2" at the end of the extension when calls are made from one location but not the other? Again the problem occurs when the digit is inserted.
Your Help Will Be Appreciated.
Doug

Why don't you call your local comdial guy and he can trouble shoot for you. This is going to be beyond your knowledge and if you start messing with the trans.txt file you will be buying yourself a headache. Call in an expert and pay for what you need. Just my 2 cents.

I am in the Detroit Metro Area. Do you have any recommendations for Comdial Experts?

Hi,
Yes you can go to the link at the top of this page that says installers. You will find 72 installers in Mich. I am sure there are some in Detroit. Also you can call comdial at 1800vertical and ask them for the local dealers. Please let me know how you make out
