We have a customer with Dx-120. They thought they would do an external callforward to a cellphone. It should be simple enough but of course they didn't read all the instructions. When they got to the part to enter the cellphone number they kept putting in the extension. This was repeated numerous times they said. Now for some reason it defaulted all the feature keys on that phone and also dnd is on the phone and we tried feature 4 numerous times but can't get dnd off it.We even tried resetting the system but no luck.Has anyone seen this before? If so any ideas on how to solve the problem? Thanks

feature 69 will clear all feature settings on the set in question. Then you can do a feature key copy in programming or just use the feature # 3 to reprogram each button on the affected phone.

To answer your question, I've never seen anything "default" all the feature keys on a set but a "cold start" procedure. You can't always believe what the user tells you.

You mentioned three different issues.

One is a user issue. I can't help you much with that, but I can wish you lots of luck.

The second is a default of all feature keys. This is found in the User's Guide as Feature 58. Check the key sequences they were trying to dial. You might see some correlation.

As for turning off DND, the User's Guide shows on and off with Feature 4, but I was thinking it was turned off with Feature *4. Worst case, program a button as Feature 4, then use the button to toggle it on or off.

Mark, the DX120 User's Guide I just looked at showed F58, not F69. But I wouldn't be surprised at a misprint. So who is right? The experienced and expert DX120 tech (Mark K), or Vertical documentation?

58 is feature key re-set, 69 is default features activated on the phone set. If DND is set, a feature default (69) would clear it. Defaulting the feature keys (58) will set the soft keys to what ever is in the pcdba database - so, if the keys were changed only using the user program of F # 3 then the default (58) would follow the pcdba programming. Did that make sense? smile

F58 puts the buttons at default, like the default desi label? Or does it actually put it back to the last PCDBA programming? I wouldn't have assumed it put it back to the last PCDBA programming.

If F58 puts the feature keys back to default (like default desi)...then that would explain the defaulting of that phone. Customer had to have hit F58 in her frantic pushing of keys.

It sets the phone back to the way the desi is labeled from the factory. I guess I didn't word that correctly.
