Trying to rebuild the restriction table in a DXP+(16A) and have a few questions. I kind of get it and the light is partially on.
1-Does it matter the order in which the entries are made? For example, does the system go down the list until it find a match or does it loook at the list as a whole when allowing/denying?
2-When trying to build a table that restricts toll calls, am I correct in assuming that if an area code is partly toll, I would have to build a table with several entries that allows calls to certain exchanges withing the area code and denies others. For example: allow all 724XXX@@@@p (where x is an exchange that is not toll within 724) deny all (or level #) 724YYY@@@@p (where y is an exchange within the same 724 arrea code but is toll)
3-The COS is set to say level 5, so a station in that COS can dial numbers that are in the table having allow or 5 and lower. What is the purpose of the exception number in the restriction table?
4-If I set the exception number on a station in above COS that is set to level 5 and I want them to be able to dial a number of restriction level 7 or 8 but not 6, I can accomplish this by adding just both 7,8 as the exception numbers and not 6. The original installer has a station in a COS with level 5 but also has the station exception number 1-3. I do not need these right? Is all this correct?
5-How can I restrict a number in all area codes, for example 555-1212? I have an entry to deny 5551212p but do I need to specify area codes with it or can I use @ as a wildcard?
Thanks for the help. -Rich

We can help you but not in the open forum, this area is for user related questions and this is about as deep as you can get with installer level programming.
Use the PM feature to contact any mod or admin for Comdial.

If you have access to the Technician forum, I believe this would be an acceptable question in that forum, since it's out of the general public's (basic users') eye.
